After about a 13 hour trip, Chris and I have officially arrived in Lima, the capitol ofPeru! Our flights were uneventful, which was nice. We were greeted at the airport by Marybeth, a friend from my last trip, and Pastor William’sson Willy. We headed straight to a hotel for the night, and woke up to a fantastic first breakfast in Peru(compliments of Pastor William’s amazing mother).
Since Limais on the coast of Peru, we went to see the Pacific Ocean. Needless to say, it was beautiful. However, the place we took the photos was on a 200 foot cliff…let’s just say Chris’ had a good time with the fact that I freaked out when he started shuffling right by the edge. We took a good walk through the city, and got to ride the local buses. Then, we met Willy’s fiancé (they are getting married August 8th!), picked up Pastor William at the airport, and we had a big Peruvian lunch of soup, chicken, rice, and potatoes—yuummm! Tomorrow, we will be moving to another hotel for a Pastor’s Conference the next few days.
Overall, I had a great first day inPeru, and I can’t wait to continue sharing with you everything. Thank you for your prayers and support!Dios te bendiga (God bless you),Joshua Kaufmann
